Rainbow Retreat is centrally located in Big Bear City. A short drive, 3 mi to the Village, 3 mi to ski resorts, 2 mi to groceries & 1 mile to tubing fun. Cabin is 1 block to Nat'l Forest hiking. 3 blocks from Big Bear Airport. Cabin sits on non busy street for walking pleasure. Quiet neighborhood. Cabin is woodsy filled with lots of charm. 2 ovens, new carpet, recently updated in 12/16. Sleeps 6. Queen & Full beds upstairs & 1, Queen hide-a-bed on main level. Level parking, entries & patios.

Our cozy cabin is full of charm & character. It is tongue & groove knotty pine milled by the famous Gus Maltby of Big Bear. Features 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom. The quaint kitchen may be small but fit for a chef featuring stainless steel appliances. Over-sized double door refrig. with filtered water/ice. The gas stove features a double oven for dual cooking/baking & a griddle inset on the stove top. Not to forget, a stainless microwave/convection oven. Stainless sink features a garbage disposal. Cabin sits on a 5,000 lot with plenty room for parking & kids to play. Very quiet street for walking and a the Nat'l Forest walking trails are a block from our cabin. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, 1 with Queen bed & other with full size bed. All with new memory foam mattresses, pillows & bedding for a good nights sleep. Downstairs in the main level is a leather couch that has a Queen bed. There are two leather power theater recliner chairs to sit back and enjoy the fireplace & the 60 inch tv with maximum comfort. The cabin sits on level ground. Walk up to the front door on the new trex decking with comfortable seating for 4 amongst the 100 year old pine trees. Walk out the back door on more new trex decking to a comfortable seating fire pit, bbq & smoker. Large, tall, cedar enclosed fencing for the kids to play. Basketball hoop on tree, tether ball for your kids enjoyment. Although there is a trampoline, it is locked as insurance will cancel if for public use. New washer/dryer installed & cabin was professionally remodeled in 2016. New Carpet 12/16 - we ask that no shoes be worn in the cabin. Our foods are in the cupboard, & some in the freezer, we will share but ask that you replenish what was borrowed with same.

Due to pet allergies our home is unfortunately Not pet friendly. With brand new carpet throughout, we request that shoes be removed before entering the cabin or at least before entering carpeted areas. There is a plastic tray behind the front door with a towel for you to place your shoes. We also ordered an enclosed sitting box for outside that will be for your shoes and keep them out of the elements. Thank you!

Season Night Weekend Night Rate

Due to new carpet, shoes are to be left either outside in shoe box or inside in tray behind front door.
- No shoes in house please
- Quiet Hours after 10pm
-Please be respectful and have a good time! Leave the cottage the way you found it.
-The cleaning fee is for the house keeper to come in and do laundry, replace bedding, vacuum, sweep and wipe down furniture. It is not to wash your dishes and clean up your mess. If house is left in a state that requires additional cleaning then an additional cleaning fee will apply.
-Take trash with you to dumpsters at fire station near by. There is no trash pickup, if you leave trash at house, there will be a fee of $15/bag that is charged by the housekeepers.
-When you leave please wash and put away dishes. Empty all items from refrigerator. Please don't leave any for future guest to use.
-No smoking inside home. A fee of $150 to air purify and rid the house of smoke smell will apply if you do.
-Due to a pet allergies we do not allow pets.

* Check out time is 11am sharp, this is very important. House keeping needs time to prepare the home for the arriving guest. A $50/hour charge will be added to any check outs after 11am that aren't pre-approved by myself. Some times late check out till 1pm is available for additional $50.

**The city of Big Bear limits the number of guests we can have stay in the home to 4 people max. If you have more than 4 people in the home we could lose our lodging license. If we find that you have more than 4 guest, we could ask you to leave, your deposit will be forfeited and or you will be charged an additional $100/per guest per night.
-Bringing a pet without permission from Matt will result in a $250 extra cleaning fee.

I really wish these weren't all things I had to include in the rules, but unfortunately, to many people were being too disrespectful and so I have to outline all the rules now. :-(

WARNING; Use of any hot tub, and/or fireplace carries risk that may result in serious injury or death. NO CHILREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 ARE PERMITTED TO USE THE HOT TUB AT ANY TIME without adult supervision. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) state that becoming overheated in a hot tub is not recommended during pregnancy. Elderly persons and anyone subject to heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, strokes, epilepsy or similar afflictions should not enter the hot tub without consulting their physician. Never use a spa while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or if you are taking medications of any kind, or being treated for any illness. The spa should be kept at a temperature less than 104 degrees for personal safety and all bathers must shower before and after use to decrease the possibility of skin problems. DO NOT SIT OR WALK ON THE SPA COVER, or it will collapse. Supervise children at all times to decrease risk on injury, death or drowning.
